About Janet Laird

Janet Laird is a fashion label that represents the need for renewability, and the move into a new industrial era. Janet’s creative flair stems from her background growing up in New Zealand, exploring locally in search of materials and influences.

Conveying a mixture of industrial and tribal themes within her designs, she is able to mesh together her varied background with her modern ideologies. No one piece is the same as the other – Janet creates art through fashion with an extensive use of upcycling and scavenging of raw materials.

Janet abides by the motto “He Kotuku Rerenga Tahi” (the heron only flies once) and she is proud to say “I am Maori”.
